In this module we learned to make an improved power point that included animations, video, and other elements to make the presentation more appealing. I do a presentation in my local school district on Bullying prevention and I was able to put together a pretty nice power point using what we learned.
We also developed a photostory movie with music and a narrative. I enjoyed this but I had trouble blending the elements of music and voice. I made an additional movie on Movie Maker putting my voice on one and a narrative on the other. This project is like a work in progress for me. Still learning....

What I learned in Module Two
In Module 2 for EDTF 300, I learned to create a booklet which will be tremendously helpful for me at work. In fact, the agency where I work was using a large packet of handouts to give to our clients explaining services so I took all that information and made a booklet. The booklet is so much more visually appealing and the size is nice for portability. I am just ecstatic about learning this skill. The other benefit is that we currently purchase a number of booklets on a variety of topics. Purchasing these booklets is expensive to the agency but now I feel like I can replicate them and save the agency money. See the picture below. Awesome!
I was also able to make a poster with my group that has similar information to the booklet. I can hang this in the lobby of the office while people wait. It provides an interesting visual on Domestic Violence and it's a unique and colorful way to present information to your target audience.

This is one of my dogs, Shaggy. He is a boxer. He's all white except for a black spot on his face and on his ear. He keeps me company while I am doing my homework. I find him to be therapeutic because helps me to relax when I have a lot to do. Boxers are unique and special animals. This class will help me be more creative at work!
In our course goals and objectives, it mentions that we will become skilled in the use of many digital tools that can be used in the work place. As part of my job, I do Anti-bullying presentations in the schools. I saw that we are supposed to post a video to our blog as part of our assignment for the week. I found this cool video that I think will be really motivating to kids. Now that I have uploaded it to this blog, I am going to try to imbed this into the power point presentation that I normally do. I hope that it will inspire kids and send the message of non-violence and anti-bullying. I didn't know that I was capable of uploading a video until I tried it. It was not that difficult and I think it will really add something special to one of my work presentations. The video even contains links to other websites about bullying prevention.

First Post for EDTF 300-02
My name is Beth Birch. I am a Sociology major and I am a Junior here at Lock Haven.
I chose this major because I am currently employed as a Victim Advocate. I work every day with crime victims and I see the role that society and social order plays in crime victimization. Sociology explores the substance behind many of things I see daily so it is very applicable to my career choice.
I would say that my comfort level with technology is at a low-medium level. I am very familiar with office applications but I am less familiar with internet technology and social media.
I have taken a number of on-line courses and I really like them. Because I commute from about 6o miles away, I try to take as many on-line courses as possible to save both time and money.
One interesting fact about me is that I work a full time and a part time job. Because of this I have to schedule my classes around my work and it is taking me a long, long time to graduate. Here is a link to the website for my work place. www.abusenetwork.org
Another interesting fact about me is that in 2010 I went to see Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. It was a 12 hour concert with some of the most legendary guitarists in the world. Here is a picture of me with one of my kids right before we went to the show. See how happy I am!
